Open June 1 – October 15, 2021
Extreme heat can cause “heat exhaustion in the Coachella Valley,” characterized by heavy sweating, intense thirst, weakness, dizziness, visual disturbances, nausea, headache, breathlessness, and palpitations. Most of these symptoms can be relieved by seeking cooler temperatures, drinking clear fluids, and resting. But if not treated, they can also lead to “heat stroke” and death.
Martha’s Village & Kitchen is doing all that it can to support our neighbors in need.
The Cooling Center is open to the general public and provides a cool environment, water, and snacks. Free public lunch is provided Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 11:45 am. A volunteer will be on-site to support the community with any needs. We also have a cooling center at the Palm Springs Access Center
We have partnered with the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County as one of our community’s listed Cooling Center locations. To learn more about staying cool, click here Tips to Stay Cool
