Register Now For Martha’s Village and Kitchen’s 11th Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K!
Registration is now open for the 11th Annual Thanksgiving 5K benefiting Martha’s Village and Kitchen. The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017, at 8:00 AM on El Paseo in Palm Desert. The 5K, also known as the Turkey Trot, is both competitive (certified course/timed raced) and casual with prizes for the winners in several age categories. KMIR and Carl’s Jr. ® are the Presenting Sponsors.
The funds raised will benefit programs offered by Martha’s Village and Kitchen. These programs help better the lives of the impoverished and homeless across the entire Coachella Valley. “We are gearing up for our 11th Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K, and we are very excited about it,” said Linda Barrack, CEO and President of Martha’s Village and Kitchen. “It is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it continues to get better and better. We are grateful for all of the community support and we are also proud of the tradition that the race has become in the Valley.”
You can register by visiting www.marthasvillage5K.org. The registration fee is $40.00 for adults and $32.00 for children.
Packet Pick Up Information
All runners receive a long-sleeve, dri-fit shirt and a goody bag. “It’s best to register as early as possible. We also recommend that registrants pick up their race day packets in advance at one of our Packet Pick-Up days to avoid long lines on race day,” said Stephanie Minor, Executive Vice President of Martha’s Village and Kitchen. “Packet Pick-Up days are Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Anytime Fitness in Indio, and Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at World Gym Palm Desert, both from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. In addition, opportunity drawing tickets and exciting new merchandise such as Thanksgiving Tutus, turkey leg boppers, Thanksgiving socks, and turkey hats will be available for purchase at Packet Pick-Up.
A Beer Garden, sponsored by La Quinta Brewing Company, will be back again this year, as will the Kid’s Zone and interactive sponsor booths. Participants can raise additional funds for Martha’s Village and Kitchen through the GroupRev platform to help our neighbors in need. Every dollar helps Martha’s provide more services to those locally here in the Coachella Valley. Create your online fundraising page, set a goal and ask family and friends for support.
