Last year Martha’s Village & Kitchen made the decision to begin a Capital Campaign to Renew Hope and Rebuild Lives. With a goal of raising $5 Million, our team focused on the following areas:
- Childcare & Child Development
- Food Services
- Job Training & Culinary Program
- Building, Shelter Space Improvements & Safety Upgrades
With help from our community partners and members, Martha’s Village & Kitchen is proud to announce that we have raised over $3,723,000! As you may have heard, MVK was approached by an anonymous donor who has offered to donate $1 Million when we reach $4 Million. This means we are just $277,000 away from this goal. We are so thrilled and grateful to have this opportunity to help change lives in our local community.
To date, some of the projects that are in process include:
Steve Mitchell Culinary Training Program
Martha’s Kitchen has nourished the impoverished for nearly thirty years. Now, MVK has launched the Steve Mitchell Culinary Training Program from this same kitchen to prepare residents and people in the community for employment in the hospitality industry. With the addition of specialized tools and equipment, this program will allow MVK to not only feed the impoverished but also train them for gainful employment. The culinary program is expected to produce approximately 100 graduates a year. We would like to thank the Harman Family for their generous donation and gift to begin this program.

Outside Playground Lighting
Thanks to a generous donation from the Steele Family, Martha’s Village & Kitchen was able to install outdoor lighting for our playground. This playground is used by the children and families who are staying in our Emergency Housing Program. For kids to have a safe, well-lit area to play in will mean all of the difference during their stay at MVK. The lights are especially helpful during our summer months when the evening hours are the only time when the weather will be cool enough for the kids and families to be together and play.

Martha’s Village & Kitchen has future projects and repairs including our Unity Kitchen, Child Development Center service expansion, and many others. Check back as we will continue to update the progress of these projects.
With so much more to do, we need your help. We hope that you will consider making a gift or pledge to help us reach our goal. Together we can help the thousands of impoverished and homeless men, women and children we support each year.
