We are very excited to announce and introduce you to our President and Chief Executive Officer at Martha’s Village and Kitchen — Linda Barrack.
Serving previously as both our Director of Operations and our Director of Programs at Martha’s, Linda brings a passionate heart and dedication to helping the homeless community in the Coachella Valley with her into her new role.
Getting to Know Our New President & CEO
On a professional level, prior to working for Martha’s, Linda spent 26 years working in the nonprofit sector leading various organizations. She has led, and worked with several California organizations including the Jewish Family Service of San Diego and the Episcopal Community Service of San Diego. During her career in the nonprofit sector, she developed many different projects including:
- Establishing 3 major housing programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Helping to establish and operate the Emergency Center of Roy’s Desert Resource Center.
Her time at Martha’s has proven to be successful. Linda has played a large role in various projects, including improving infrastructure and overall program performance.
In addition to her work with Martha’s, Linda also serves as the Vice Chair of the County of Riverside Continuum of Care (CoC), a U.S. Department of Health and Urban Development mandated network of organizations, municipalities, and other partners dedicated to addressing the needs of the homeless in Riverside county. She also continues to serve on various other committees related to services for those in need in both the Coachella Valley and Riverside County.
When Linda isn’t managing the day to day of the organization, she enjoys spending time with our amazing volunteers, interacting with the children in our child development center, and mentoring staff.
Working as the President & CEO at Martha’s
As the President & CEO of Martha’s, Linda will work directly with the Board of Directors in leading the organization in fulfilling our mission: to serve our neighbors by responding to their needs with food, clothing, shelter and an opportunity to become self-sufficient by affirming their dignity with love, compassion and respect.
Henry Burdick, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, said “Linda is an exceptionally skilled expert of issues associated with homelessness….we are confident that Linda’s specialized background and dedication to humanity will provide the leadership necessary to continue our commitment to change lives.”
When asked about her new position with Martha’s, Linda said: “Martha’s Village and Kitchen provides vital human services and contributes to improving people’s quality of life…..It is truly an honor for me to serve the organization and the community in this new role.”
