Julia originally came into Martha’s Village and Kitchen for our single’s program in July this year. During that time, Julia worked her program and regularly attended her appointments in our Case Management and Career and Education departments. One of Julia’s first accomplishments during her time at Martha’s Village was getting full custody of her son, Eli. Julia worked with her case manager and other staff to make reunification possible for her family. Within a month into her program, Julia successfully transitioned from our single program to our family program. When speaking about her reunification, Julia stated, “All the staff treated me well and helped me a lot with getting my son back. Everyone treated me like a person.” Furthermore, Julia was able to find permanent housing for herself and her son successfully. Julia and her son now live comfortably in an unsubsidized unit.
