Samantha and her four children came to Martha’s in February of this year. After a year of struggling and ending up with no place to stay, she reached out to Martha’s Village & Kitchen. Samantha’s sister used services at MVK and graduated from our program the prior year and recommended that Samantha come in and talk to the case management team to ask for help. Asking for help is the biggest and most productive step that takes a lot of courage for most individuals and parents.
“Coming to Martha’s was the best thing that happened to me.”
As Samantha started to get more involved in the programs offered at Martha’s she started to feel better about herself. She started going to church and seeking more guidance through Case Management and Career & Education Services. Through this help, Samantha was able to work on some of her personal circumstances and started attending therapy sessions to better improve herself for her kids and family. With a lot of hard work, Samantha started to see positive results and continued to complete and achieve the goals she had set.
“Utilize Case Management! My Case Manager was the best. She helped me with my journey and even helped with my kids.”
Now that Samantha has accomplished all of her personal goals she was able to reunite with her family. She has now graduated from our program and will be moving into an apartment in Lake Tahoe. Although this is a big move for her, she knows that she has the tools, resources and guidance she needs to support herself and her family.
