La Cherri, Vincent, and their 4 children were living with family. Unfortunately, the living conditions were not safe for anyone. They reached out to Martha’s Village & Kitchen for help. La Cherri, Vincent, and their children moved into their own room.
“The staff are very good at what they do. They have helped my family in more than one way. Getting jobs, applying for housing, even helping fill out applications.”
Although La Cherri was skeptical of the Career and Education classes Martha’s offered, she tried it out and they turned out to be her favorite program at Martha’s. La Cherri plans to take a lot of what she learned in the classes with her in life.
“My long term goals are to keep my home and manage money like I learned at MVK.”
They had a goal to not only graduate the program successfully but to stay successful afterward. Within a month of joining the program, Vincent was able to find a permanent job and shortly after, they found their new home.
“I will be successful because I learned that I can from MVK.”
“I plan to keep going to the top. MVK taught me that once I put my mind to something, I can do it.”
“My most memorable part of the experience here at MVK is that the staff took time to work one on one with my family and myself. I want to become a much more understanding and better person.”
