For the first time in 7 years, Jennifer found secure employment
Jennifer and her children became homeless after struggling financially, and were sleeping in a friend’s car. Upon entering the Residential Program at Martha’s Village and Kitchen, Jennifer utilized the Career and Education department and was diligent in her job searching. Jennifer was grateful to secure employment at a local restaurant, and was proud to land her first stable job in seven years.
Also during her stay at Martha’s, Jennifer received a donated car through Fix Auto of Cathedral City, in collaboration with Allstate® and Martha’s Village and Kitchen. “Because of it [the car donation] I had a better opportunity to find housing, and was able to drive my kids to school,” said Jennifer.
Jennifer is proud to have a place of her own
After securing employment and reliable transportation, Jennifer has successfully transitioned out of Martha’s and is thriving self-sufficiently with her children. “Even though the transition was tough at times, I am moving into my apartment with my children and am proud to say I will now be living in a place of my own,” said Jennifer. “I am appreciative for all the help Martha’s gave me and my family during my stay.”
