Cindy
Cindy and her son entered Martha’s Village & Kitchen in early 2021. During Cindy’s stay, she worked hard to care for her child and maintain employment. We encouraged Cindy to apply for the CORP program and start the process. Due to her having difficulties obtaining legal documents, she decided to put the application process on hold. Cindy worked hard to comply with our policies by keeping her room clean, organized and attending her Career & Education appointments. During her stay, she completed the VI-SPDAT and was very fortunate to qualify for this rapid rehousing program. After searching long and hard, she found a one-bedroom apartment in Desert Hot Springs. Cindy also utilized Martha’s Village Thrift Store to furnish her new home. Cindy and her son exited Martha’s Village & Kitchen in December of 2021 and were able to celebrate Christmas in their own home as Cindy wanted.
