Martha’s Village & Kitchen’s Emergency Food Pantry is open to the community in their time of need. Each day we help those that are homeless, on fixed incomes, low income, and those that are living in poverty. The food distribution program at Martha’s Village & Kitchen helps many with not only their basic needs but as a way to stretch their already scarce resources. This program and service helps to ultimately prevent people from becoming homeless in the first place.
MVK has the capacity to not only distribute to those who are low income, but also to our homeless community. During our regular distribution, individuals and families receive bags of food items based on their family size. Each bag has enough food to make full meals for several days. A similar distribution is made up of supplies that are more accessible for our homeless community. Some items may include: food items that do not need a can opener, items that do not need to be cooked to be eaten, and plenty of fluids to keep them hydrated. We also provide our homeless community with hygiene kits when available.
Martha’s Village & Kitchen’s distribution program relies solely on our community donations and our partnerships with other organizations. Last month alone, MVK’s distribution served 1,025 of our neighbors in need. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the help of our partners and the donations from people just like you!
Emergency Food Distributions, Days & Times
If you or someone you know needs commodities or access to food, MVK’s Emergency Food Distribution is available Monday thru Friday from 8 am- 10 am. Our main USDA distribution day is on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Additional items like seasonal fruits and vegetables and items that need to be refrigerated or kept frozen may be added on this day as well.
If you are looking for ways to help the community, please consider donating non-perishable food items today. You may even want to consider volunteering at the next food distribution day.
