The programs at Martha’s Village & Kitchen are successful!
Success means clients must maintain gainful employment and a permanent residence once they graduate. Our success rate for families is 87% for single adults its 65%.
Here’s how we do it:
• Food Services provide over 320,000 meals per year.
• Housing accommodations with beds for short and long term residents.
We provide over 84,000 nights of shelter per year of which 22,950
are for children under the age of 15.
• Emergency Shelter hosts an additional 100 homeless neighbors every night.
• Career & Education Center provides work force training and job search
assistance for residents and the community. Annually, over 9,990 people access the Career & Education Center.
• Children’s Services Department with structured child development classes
and after school tutoring, plus a fully licensed day care center.
This year our children have accessed this program 3,116 times.
• Case Management Program provides 3,500 hours of counseling through
battery of assessments, parenting classes, and money management.
Plus one year client follow up.
• Recovery Services provides group and individual support to residents through more than 520 education, process and relapse prevention group meetings.
• The Volunteer Program gives more than 50,000 hours of volunteer services.
• Emergency Assistance Services furnishes clothing vouchers, canned goods,
rental & utility assistance and referrals to other community resources.
During the holidays we provide 900 Christmas baskets and over 2,500 new toys.
• Medical Clinic provides healthcare and medications to those who have no health insurance. Over 7,700 patients have visited the medical clinic which consists of new patients, walk-ins, diabetic patients and eye exams.
• Dan Dunlap Center houses 120 people. We have 28 rooms with an average
of four to six people per room.
• Families stay an average of six-to-ten months in our transitional housing;
single adults normally average a four- to-six month stay.
