Residents and neighbors in the community receive hot,
nutritious meals. |
Martha’s Village & Kitchen serves nearly 300,000 meals a year to more than 3,500 children, families and adults. Food Services provides three meals a day for the Village’s Transitional and Emergency Shelter residents. In addition, a lunch meal is served to community neighbors in need in accordance with FDA published guidelines.
How we provide hot, nutritious meals:
- Traditional meals at Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays are provided in a festive community atmosphere to Village residents and community neighbors in need.
- Food is received through contributions from the community but is mainly purchased according to the needs.
- Regular contributors are FIND Food Bank, Hidden Harvest, Desert Sands Unified School District, Albertsons, Trader Joe's, Costco, Sam's Club and Clarks Nutrition & Natural Foods Market.
- Up to 1,200 holiday food baskets and 5,000 toys are distributed to non-resident families in need for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
MISSION:
Our mission is to satisfy hunger in the community by providing nutritious, well-balanced meals to both residents and clients prepared and served by trained staff, residents and volunteers. |
